Box Office: Airlift All Set To Be the BIGGEST Republic Day Weekend Release Ever

Airlift is continuing its record spree. The film had another good day at the office on Tuesday and brought in around 1 crore* more. As a result, the collections now stand around the 122 crore* mark and with this, the Raja Menon directed film is now all set to beat the BIGGEST Republic Day weekend release ever, which is Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath.

This is how the Top-5 Republic Day weekend releases stand:

Agneepath [2012] – 123.05 crore

Airlift [2016] – 122 crore* [Still running]

Jai Ho [2014] – 111 crore

Race 2 [2013] – 102 crore

Baby [2015] – 95.5 crore

The point to be noted is that each of the other 100 crore grossers is an out and out mainstream commercial entertainer. Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath was the remake of the cult Amitabh Bachchan film. Salman Khan’s Jai Ho released at the time when the superstar is churning out centuries at will. Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor and John Abraham’s Race 2 was the sequel to much loved Race.

The only other biggie in this list (albeit not a 100 crore affair) is an Akshay Kumar starrer, Baby, and that again belonged to the niche genre. This does convey quite well that Akshay Kumar has reserved for himself on this date, and that too with films that aren’t conventionally commercial.

Airlift is still in the running and heading towards the 130 crore mark.

So far, there hasn’t been an announcement of an Akshay Kumar starrer for Republic Day weekend of 2017. However, it won’t be surprising if it does happen in quick time, owing to the fact that just like Khans have Eid and Diwali for them, Republic Day now pretty much belongs to Akshay Kumar.

Gone are the days when skinny women were considered to be the symbol of conventional beauty. Our ancestors were fond of curves and so we are. Nobody wants to date a model with zero size stature. Plus size woman looks extremely lovely but most women may not agree with me. They want to slim down, be like those conventional bikini types. In India, the hourglass types are very common but most women don’t recognize it. They think, being healthy and full of flesh is unappealing. True appeal lies in those curves; they look great in saree as well in trousers and jeans.  Indian beauty unlike the westerners have the most preferred features, they are divinely shaped. Little bit of fat won’t make a woman unattractive, they look just fine. A curvaceous woman is a blessing to humanity because she could exude so much fantasy in a man’s mind.

There’s no harm if you stay fit but please don’t try hard to replicate those so-called onscreen divas. Beauty is everywhere; you just need to acknowledge them. Craving for a perfect body is fine but copying someone and trying to be someone else is seriously a crime. God created women to flaunt their assets not to reduce them to half with nothing to exhibit. Indian women however have that gift from birth. They are full of those divine curves. There’s too much to explore. From head to toe, Indian women epitomize exquisiteness.
